The Tinkerman

Nomadic Musician, Audio Technologist and Educator, The Tinkermans CV could describe him in many ways, but he’ll deny that he’s any of them.

He accidentally slipped into broadcasting during the early 90’s when he was asked to engineer a series of outside broadcasts with Lorraine Kelly. After two weeks alone in a car with Lorraine he went on to work with Talk Radio, Talk Sport, BBC Radio 2 and 4.
The Tinkerman is a studio artist and producer based in Devon. During 2018 he enjoyed four top three hits in the Itunes Reggae charts including two number ones as the producer for The Skapones tracks Cradle to Grave and Skapones a Go Go. He also produced The Skapones debut album From Cradle to Grave.

He has appeared on two of our tribute albums with remixes of Bob Marleys Is this Love and Jacob Miller’s Tenament Yard. He played all the instruments and mixed Crying Shame by Scarlet, 1978 by The Resonations as well as mixing other Specialized tracks for The Hacklers, Sa Ratinpignata, The Equators, Choir Vibe, The Reggasksa and even The Pelenna Valley Male Voice Chior.
He has also worked with Cartoon Violence, The Splitters, Roddy Byers and many others. He creates The Talking Machine programme for Exile FM

The Tinkermans debut album is currently underway. He has lectured in music technology since the late 1990s and runs creative workshops in music and technical theatre.
The Tinkerman is the producer of number ones and is available for mixdowns and remixes.

“Enigmatic, inexplicable and sometimes incomprehensible. Soundscaping and remodelling The Tinkerman will reconceive, invert and reinvent. His work brings real and created sound together creating immersive and beguiling remixes”
“That sounds proper that does”
“Yeah it’s alright”
“What on earth is he thinking?”
